Emerged in thelate 1970s, cognitive linguistic has become the mainstream school inlinguistics after a rapid development in the 1980s and 1990s. Motivated by internationalresearches, domestic cognitive linguistics research is now booming with anincreasing number of reviews and special projects published by scholars andresearch institutes of the perspectives from theory to practice. Meanwhile, theresearch scope extends beyond linguistics to literature, translation andteaching, forming a systematic and diversified trend of cognitive research athome.
To promotecognitive linguistics, encourage interdisciplinary researches on cognitivelinguistics and literature, translation and teaching and inspire academiccreativity, School of Foreign Languages of SichuanNormal University is to hold the First International Conference on CognitiveResearches on Language and Literature in Chengdu. The Conferencewill start on Oct 17th 2014 and close on Oct 19th 2014, aimingto popularize of cognitive linguistics, inspire scholars of different fieldsand motivate the domestic development of cognitive researches.
